Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
"This model offers two powerful, durable and versatile food processors in one. The 7-Cup work bowl is large enough to handle most food processing tasks, while the 3-Cup mini bowl with mini blade transforms the food processor into a mini chopper that is ideal for small tasks."

4 out of 5 stars dough blade   November 14, 2008
Barbara Pifer Bach (Bellingham Wa)
All I wanted was a dough blade to make pie dough and couldn't find an attachment to buy for the 7 cuper

5 out of 5 stars Very versatile and a good buy   February 24, 2008

I needed a food processor for our two person household and I'm thrilled I picked this one. The two bowl sizes let me work with small and larger foods. Everything goes in the dishwasher and cleans up easily. It's not so heavy that I'd hesitate to pull it out of the cupboard for a quick task. I have freshly grated cheese around the house now instead of aging bagged stuff. Good buy!

I had the Cuisinart for the longest time. i wanted to get a larger one because of all the baby food i make so i checked out the reviews and decided on this one. all i can say is WOW! The motor is SOOOO quiet and it takes half the time. i am so happy with this food processor!!

1 out of 5 stars Perfect operation, but deeply flawed for cleaning   April 27, 2007

If you don't have a dishwasher, I don't recommend buying this food processor.

It's fast, quiet, powerful, and truly perfect in every way, so far as its operation is concerned. It makes perfect shredded vegetables, hummus, salsa, purees, ground nuts, etc. The motor is strong, the blades are sharp, and it looks great on the counter.

However, without the sanitizing environment of a dishwasher, you just can't clean the inside of the handle. There is enough space for moisture and tiny bits of food to run into the hollow handle, and no way to remove it for cleaning (I spoke with a Kitchenaid customer service rep, and she confirmed this). Within months of regular use, mold forms inside the handle. This is not exactly the sort of thing I want so close to my food. Also, the inside of the blade is too deep to be reached with a sponge in handwashing, so that gets a little suspect, too. I have tried pouring boiling water and bleach solution into the handle, but it is not clean. Cracking the handle off would break the mechanism that locks the workbowl to the food processor, and replacement bowls run about $35-40 dollars.

Long story short, if you have a dishwasher, you may be fine (unless solid bits get into the handle, which they can and do). If you're not bothered by proximity between fresh food and long-term food rot, then this is the food processor for you.

4 out of 5 stars Overall a great appliance, but blade options too limited   April 6, 2007

I have owned this food processor for about six months and use it often as I do a lot of scratch cooking. It runs smoothly and is easy to use and clean up. It has done everything I have asked of it so far. I would give it five stars IF it had more blade options. It comes with one slicer/shredder combo disk and the chopping blade and that is all you get or can get (I even called the manufacturer to put in a request for more blade options, but am not holding my breath). I would like to be able to slice some things thicker, but this is not possible as no other disks available for this unit. Too bad.
