1 out of 5 stars Can't replace o ring   May 2, 2008
Timothy Dekofski (Orlando, FL USA)
You can't the o ring if you tried. Trying to open the bottom is impossible. Save your time and buy an Oster. Don't make the same mistake I did.

2 out of 5 stars Leaks too much   March 13, 2008
Bradley A. Barkett (Silver Spring, Maryland United States)
Good strong casing, but the wave motion gimmick created by the shape accelerates the liquids too much, and in tandem with the relatively highly tuned speed settings, this blender frequently hits the lid with your blendings. The lid then sprays stuff out in various directions in thin, high speed streams. I would not recommend this blender although I have used other Hamilton Beach blenders with success, and I do so every day. This one just happens to suck because it is tuned to spin too fast, and then the lid can't even keep the contents from spraying out.

1 out of 5 stars 10 months later...   July 14, 2007
Gary Engel (Boise, Idaho)
loved this blender for the 10 months i had it ... then the cheap plastic bottom cracked and everything leaked out all over table. Now it's worthless because you can't replace teh canister. If you're looking for a blender that will last the whole year then this one is not for you.

2 out of 5 stars 30 bucks is cheap, yet its not what i thought it would be   June 29, 2007
Jesse Marcus (los angeles)
just gave my old blender to the goodwill. the ad says its a 600W motor. its not its a 450W motor. it makes so much noise. the parts of the blender base and top when combined and turned on rattle harmoniously. evidently the bearing for the blade is not really holding the spindle straight. oh well. it does however beat things up in there and the liquid pattern is different from the clean vortex my old blender made. must be the wave logic. there is a funny characteristic: the base acts with suction to your counter when its turned on full, there are fan blades on the motor causing this. the vent underneath is strangely both sucking and blowing out air. I have to agree the base does not have enough thread on it to secure it nicely against the seal. this would explain why one person said it keeps coming off and dumping the goods. even thought the lid has a deep lip going into the jar i still got some liquid that spalshed out the top side when i first turned it on. Could have used a softer material for the lid closer to rubber. I have to say the review by Vauchan or whatever the name is sounds totally fake. I want decent gear for a bargain but this is making me more unhappy than the low price of 30 bucks. its going back.
