4 out of 5 stars Roomy inside, compact outside - but slow   May 31, 2010
S. Freeman (Oregon, USA)
We bought this toaster oven about a month ago, to replace a 20-year-old Black and Decker that had just died. We've used our new Proctor Silex toaster oven at least a couple of times a day since then. Toasting, reheating leftovers, crisping up chicken -- we do it all with this oven. I initially had some problems with burnt toast, but was able to resolve them by learning to adjust the timer setting properly.

Pros: Very roomy inside, especially considering its small footprint. This toaster oven takes up no more counter space than our old 2-slice oven, yet can hold about 50% more food. The sliding glass top makes it easy to watch food while it cooks, and the crumb tray is a snap to clean. It's a versatile and good-looking appliance.

Cons: Slow to heat up. This oven is big enough that it really needs an additional heating element. When making toast, I have to preheat the oven for a couple of minutes before putting the bread in. Otherwise, the bread gets dried out before it's brown.

Would I buy it again? Maybe... although I'd look at the competition first.

this oven lives up to all previous reviews. It is very efficient. I would replace it with same if it ever goes out.

Had it 3 years now and it's still tickin'. It's real perty and it does it's job. It's also inexpensive. What more do you want from me!?!?

Seriously.

5 out of 5 stars Good Product   February 4, 2010

It is exactly what I want for toast and broiling. It did not catch fire like my previous broiler/oven made by a competitor. I like being able to remove the door to clean it, but I do note that it was tricky getting the door back on after cleaning. I also like the compact size.

5 out of 5 stars Best Toaster Oven I Have Ever Owned!!!   January 24, 2010

First, I am a little befuddled with the reviews that comment on this toaster oven's ability to do anything other than "toast". If you are searching for a product that will toast your items or liberally bake, ie: sliced bread, pizza, cookie dough, etc...then this is what you are looking for. If you need more....look to your good ol' oven. Otherwise, this product is AWESOME!!!!

I have 3 teenagers and needless to say, they are always looking for something quick to eat after school. This toaster oven more than handles (cooks quickly and evenly) the food items they rush home to consume. I have used it to make garlic toast, mini pizzas, frozen fries, even a chicken breast dinner for two (just the chicken, and it was sliced thin)!

Another plus is the ability to clean the glass door, it slides right off the back with ease. Traditional ovens do not allow removal, thus you never really get them clean. This feature far exceeds my desire to have the oven look clean as it sits on my counter.

No complaints here, I have owned it for a year, and I would purchase another one if something happened to this one.

Best Lil Toaster Over (emphasis on the "Toaster")I have ever owned...I'm 45 yrs old, so I've owned a few.
