Big Disappointment! November 17, 2008 L. Oneill (Northeast PA) Had my Breville Panini press about 4 months and really liked the sandwiches I could make with it- then one day - dead, stone cold. It just stopped working. For Breville to honor my warrenty I needed my purchase reciept - shredded, sorry to say. One other thing about this press - there is no on or off switch. To turn off the press you need to unplug it which produced a large spark at the outlet every time - what a crazy design - is it so expensive to put a simple on / off switch. For $150 I want an on / off switch - and, waffle plates! Big Disappointment!
Nice machine... November 9, 2008 Mark Luehmann I agree with the good reviews out there already. Not much I can add. It's easy to use and easy to clean. It does an excellent job of cooking sandwiches (our favorite use) uniformly. If there was one complaint, it's that it is almost impossible to see when the green ready led is lit. But that's pretty minor. Great little machine...
So far, so good October 11, 2008 Minda Kistner We bought this grill from Bed, Bath and Beyond a few weeks ago and haven't had any problems with it so far. We have used it almost daily to make paninis (that was the main reason we got it) and it does a beautiful job. The green ready light is a little hard to see but in light of how well it works (so far) I'll take that. In short, we totally dig it.
Dead after three weeks! September 10, 2008 S. May 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It took me a while to finally decide on this model of Panini grill and was okay with it for the three weeks that it was operative with the exception of some issues. One problem was the top grill popped out quite easily and at one time fell off on my hand while I had the grill open and was placing food on the bottom grill. Talk about a major safety issue! The second issue is that the "ready light" indicating that the grill is hot and ready to be used never turned on. Of course, the third and final problem is that the grill actually stopped working after three weeks as I mentioned earlier. I will be returning this immediately and hope that there are no problems and I get my money refunded.
price questions September 7, 2008 Rosina Lippi 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just discovered that this very same grill (same model number) is available at Bed Beth & Beyond for $99 -- and it's not listed as a sale price. Generally the prices here on Amazon are really good, so this really surprised me. I'm wondering if I should return this to Amazon and get the one that's $50 less expensive.
