3 out of 5 stars So-so toaster   May 13, 2008

It seemed like a good deal when we bought it but it wasn't a good buy. PROS: It toasts waffles, bagels, and muffins in addition to regular bread. CONS: It is bulky. It does not do a good job of toasting wheat breads, requiring one and a half cycles. Should have a longer cycle but perhaps cycle is not longer because it might burn white breads. Does not toast evenly. Very difficult to clean. Cannot get plastic top off to clean metal underneath. Designed that way so that users do not touch hot metal but should be able to remove plastic top to shine metal underneath which gets quite dirty. Crumb tray too narrow. Cord is short coming out of bottom right.

3 out of 5 stars Extra long means 5-1/2" slots   January 16, 2008

(Note: I have not actually toasted anything yet.) I ordered this because it said "extra long" slots. I was hoping rye bread (Kasanof's traditionally-shaped) would fit in it, but the longest slices in the middle of the loaf do not. I'm still deciding whether to keep it because the reviews I saw were better than other 2 slice toasters and it will work for some of the rye loaf, other breads and bagels. I considered four slice toasters with 10" slots, but the reviews are horrible for them.
