Amazon.com Review Compact and loaded with electronic controls, this 0.5-cubic-foot countertop convection toaster oven/broiler has room to toast four slices, roast a 4-1/2-pound chicken, bake a 9-inch pie, or broil several steaks. Because it circulates hot air, the 1500-watt oven cooks faster and more uniformly than a conventional oven. For easy cleaning, the interior is nonstick and a slide-out tray catches toast crumbs. The exterior is steel painted white. The oven measures 14 inches wide, 9-1/4 inches high, and 17 inches deep, weighs 20-1/2 pounds, and carries a three-year warranty against defects. It comes with a rack that fits in two positions and a baking pan with a broiler insert. For safety, the oven automatically shuts off after 4 hours. A touchpad control panel runs the width of the oven and offers many options, including time and temperature, for all cooking methods. Toasting controls, for example, include buttons for number of items, defrosting, and bagels. Up to seven customized settings can be programmed into the toaster's memory so they can be conveniently recalled. Combining, say, the four-slice option, the defrost option, and the bagel option in the memory allows for defrosting and toasting four frozen bagel halves to a desired shade at the touch of a button without having to reprogram the toaster. --Fred Brack

Not a good buy October 11, 2008 rare bird (Missouri) After one year of use this toaster oven began to deteriorate to the point that we did not want to use it, or have it in our kitchen. The paint along the top edges is chipped and peeling. The small space underneath the glass door became filled with food debris that ran down the glass with steam. The door cannot be removed, so we tried to clean it first with a soft toothbrush and then with a cloth wrapped over a plastic knife. The paint came off. In addition, there are heat cracks along the plastic touch control panel, and the plastic has crumbled around the screws that hold the body together. We have purchased several other Cuisinart appliances (blender, toaster, coffeemaker and food processor). The only one we are satisfied with is the food processor. They should have stuck with their core competency.
Convection toaster oven October 10, 2008 C. Vernon (Sherman Oaks, CA United States) I bought this little beauty a few weeks ago and have now had the opportunity to use all of its features: broiling, convection baking and convential baking (of course, just plain toasting too). It does an oustanding job on convection baking (chicken, game hens, small leg of lamb, etc.) and broiling (salmon steaks, chicken breasts, etc.). This is now my very favorite small appliance and I absolutely love it! Dinner guests are very impressed too:-) It is small enough so it doesn't take up too much counter space and is very attractive and streamlined looking and easy to clean. You cannot go wrong with this little beauty and its versatility, and it's perfect for a one or two person household.
A little pricey, sure, but it's just such a great freakin' toaster September 24, 2008 A. Gosline (Boston, MA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
You could definitely buy a cheaper toaster and be happy as a clam. But my aunt has this one and I've loved it for years - well designed, smooth moving doors, great functionality and design of buttons/temp/timing control. Love it. We always had Delonghis growing up and they were good too, but this is better. So if you are feeling a little extravagant, go ahead and get it. If not, you'll still get some great toast (and pizza and baked potatoes)
A great toaster oven! September 16, 2008 Robyn S. (Raleigh, NC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this a year ago as a replacement for a black and decker toaster oven that we had owned forever. The TOB-175BC is wonderful and I would wholehearted recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a quality toaster oven. It is simply terrific!
Best toaster oven I ever had September 14, 2008 Annie G 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My husband thought this was a little pricey, butI got it anyway. He loves it, and so do I. Toast, rolls and bagels come out perfect. I haven't used the convection oven features yet.
