Amazon.com Review
Strikingly retro in brushed stainless-steel with black-plastic accents, this 12-cup coffeemaker includes Cuisinart's best brewing technology and premium features for ease and flexibility. The digital clock/timer is programmable for automatically brewing "wake-up" coffee at a selected time and for turning off the warming plate up to four hours in advance. Removing the glass carafe from the warming plate automatically pauses the brewing process for a quick pour, and the warming plate's temperature can be adjusted. For maximum flavor, the machine can be set to brew one to four 5-ounce cups or five to twelve cups, and it includes a charcoal water filter. For convenience, a permanent Gold Tone filter eliminates messy paper filters and an indicator-light shows when decalcification is needed. The coffeemaker measures 14-1/4 inches high, 8 inches wide, and 10-3/4 inches deep (including carafe handle) and carries a three-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

5 out of 5 stars Cuisnart Coffeemaker   August 29, 2008
Mick in Michigan (Traverse City, MI)
The Cuisinart coffeemaker is exactly what we wanted. It is used with fresh coffee beans that we grind daily and produces good quality coffee in short order. We had originally intended to get a Mr. Coffee but decided on the Cuisinart because it was better looking. After a month of use, we couldn't be more pleased. Everything works as expected and it is fast.

This machine is amazing. It made me wonder why I settled for average coffee before. Very easy to use. Not sure if the listing states that it comes with a gold filter, but it does. Amazon recommended the addition of a gold filter and now I have two.

1 out of 5 stars Looks great, but not well designed, plus IT LEAKS!   August 28, 2008
BarbMama (San Francisco, CA)
We've had this coffee maker for about 8 months, got it because a) cuisinart has a solid reputation, and b) we wanted a machine with simple, no bell-and-whistles operation. It does look really nice, very functional, but in reality, the filter and the water inlet are way too close together and the top doesn't come off for cleaning, making the whole thing a fairly messy machine. You wind up with coffee grounds all over the place. I can deal with that, but now, over the last week it has developed a serious leak. About half the water comes out the bottom of the machine, burning hot, So if you want 5 cups of coffee, you've got to put in 10 cups of water, and you get five cups of boiling water all over the counter. It's not worth repairing, the repair would be as much as the machine, so I'm tossing it and replacing with another brand of coffee maker (Technivorm Moccamaster) that is more expensive but doesn't sound like it'll have the issues the cuisinart does.

1 out of 5 stars Leaking after 1 year of use   August 28, 2008

This one leaks when it brews. It leaks a cup of water out of the back whenever I brew coffee.

4 out of 5 stars fantastic   August 28, 2008

I am most impressed with the taste of my cheap coffee that comes from this coffee maker. I don't know if its the charcoal filter or the brewing process, but the flower and fruity notes were present, unlike in other coffee makers I have owned. The product seems to be well made, and the on/off toggle switch is a nice touch. I would recommend this coffee maker to anyone
