Very Slow for Toasting October 7, 2008 T. Lilly (Birmingham, AL) This Haier Toaster Oven does an adequate job baking and reheating small items, but is much to slow to satisfy me as a toaster. It usually takes at least 5 minutes to toast English Muffins or make Toast. Sorry I bought it.
Good no-frills toaster oven May 31, 2008 Internet grandma (Galt, California) 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
We've had this toaster oven for about a month, and I'm very satisfied. After going through several ovens that either didn't cook evenly or failed completely (the door on the expensive Cuisinart wouldn't close after a few months), I chose this one because of Haier's good reputation. I've used it for heating frozen waffles, broiling English Muffins and baking a 5-pack of refrigerator biscuits. It did well on all of them, but as with any broiling operation, you have to watch it. Much to my husband's dismay, I have a tendency to butter muffins, put them under the broiler and start doing something else until they catch on fire. I didn't do that this time, but the first time I used it, I set the timer for too long, causing the smoke alarm to go off. The muffins were pretty crispy! That was operator error, and I would recommend this product for people who want to use it as a supplement to their regular oven. It's the smallest oven we've ever owned, but it's all we need. Don't look for a lot of instructions, though.
