2 out of 5 stars Very Slow for Toasting   October 7, 2008

This Haier Toaster Oven does an adequate job baking and reheating small items, but is much to slow to satisfy me as a toaster. It usually takes at least 5 minutes to toast English Muffins or make Toast. Sorry I bought it.

5 out of 5 stars Good no-frills toaster oven   May 31, 2008

We've had this toaster oven for about a month, and I'm very satisfied. After going through several ovens that either didn't cook evenly or failed completely (the door on the expensive Cuisinart wouldn't close after a few months), I chose this one because of Haier's good reputation. I've used it for heating frozen waffles, broiling English Muffins and baking a 5-pack of refrigerator biscuits. It did well on all of them, but as with any broiling operation, you have to watch it. Much to my husband's dismay, I have a tendency to butter muffins, put them under the broiler and start doing something else until they catch on fire. I didn't do that this time, but the first time I used it, I set the timer for too long, causing the smoke alarm to go off. The muffins were pretty crispy! That was operator error, and I would recommend this product for people who want to use it as a supplement to their regular oven.

It's the smallest oven we've ever owned, but it's all we need. Don't look for a lot of instructions, though.
