Product Description A classic toaster is a must for any kitchen! You will love this Classic 4 Slice Toaster. This toaster is not only efficient, it's also attractive! This toaster has extra wide 28mm slots, which can easily hold most breads, bagels, etc. This toaster also features ProHeat elements, a patented design which increases both toasting efficiency and element longevity. This toaster also features an adjustable rear foot, and a removable crumb tray. Ingenious wire guards adjust to the width of the bread to keep it in place during the toasting process. This toaster is available in five colors. Two great accessories for this Classic Toaster are also available! The Sandwich Cage - now you can have perfectly toasted sandwiches in a snap - simply put your sandwich in the cage, and the cage in the toaster. Your sandwich will be toasted, and all of the fillings will stay between the slices of bread! There is also a Warming Rack, which allows you to easily warm food that has traditionally been difficult to prepare in the toaster - like danishes and croissants! Now your favorite breakfast treats can be deliciously toasted!.
Assembly level/degree of difficulty: No Assembly Required. A restocking fee will be deducted if this item is returned.
Amazon.com Review Engineered in England and hand-assembled to the last detail, the Dualit 4-slice toaster is that ideal accomplishment--a hardworking kitchen appliance with an elegant presence. Its curvy retro shape is undeniably handsome and its structural components withstand the rigors of a high-octane kitchen. In fact, the toaster can output up to 130 slices per hour, should the entire neighborhood ever depend on you for breakfast or tea. The key to Dualit's exceptionally even browning is the toaster's system of patented ProHeat elements, a series of flat bars behind a smooth, transparent coating. The result is an efficient, durable design, suitable for everything from brioche to sandwiches. The elements are encased by a rugged, stainless-steel housing that you may not even recognize as a relative of its lightweight, plasticky peers. Each slot measures 28 mm wide and is extra deep to allow for the use of the Dualit sandwich cage (sold separately). One adjustable leg accommodates uneven surfaces and rubberized feet protect your countertop. The Dualit toaster has manually operated functions and is designed for people who like to engage with their appliances. Operation is simple but rewarding. A rocker switch selects 2- or 4-slice toasting, and a 4-minute timer knob lets you fine-tune browning time. Instead of a pop-up function that can prematurely cool toast, the unit comes with an ejector knob that you raise when you're ready for it. For smaller households or busy kitchens, Dualit also makes 2- and 3-slice models. All Dualit toasters come with a one-year warranty. --Emily Bedard

You get what you pay for... January 21, 2008 C. Escaravage Yes, its very expensive but it works beautifully. Solid construction with manual lower and raise and toaster dial thats a timer means less electronics to break. Commercial grade.
Better than the others I've tried... July 24, 2005 Leo Vindacci (Rome, Italy) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
After much research and thinking, I finally purchased this toaster, believing it would be the best and last toaster I would ever have to buy. It is truly the best toaster I've ever had, and I've had them all! There are some slight drawbacks that I must mention, however: The two slots on the left sometimes toast more lightly than the right-hand slots, and the toasting can be uneven from top to bottom in all the slots. This toaster takes longer than other brands to do its job, requiring a little "warm-up" time after it has cooled a bit. Also, the slots are not quite wide enough for some breads, such as half-sliced bagels. I honestly don't see how two slices of bread could fit into the optional sandwich basket that is designed to slide into a slot on this toaster. There are some great features, too: The crumb tray actually catches all the crumbs and is easy to slide out to empty. The toast does not pop up, as in other brands, thereby staying warm for a few minutes until I can get to it. It has a simple numbered dial--the numbers correspond to minutes--and during the toasting time, the toaster ticks--like an old-fashioned kitchen timer. There is no "ready" sound, such as a ding, but the ticking stops with a loud click when the time is up. Also, there is never a time when this toaster is too hot to toast another batch of bread. In fact, it works better when it is still hot. The design is attractive and would look nice left out on the counter. I keep mine in a cupboard, however, and it is no trouble to get it out every morning and put it back after breakfast. (This is how I've always stored my toasters.) I purchased the yellow, 4-slice model, and it is very pretty. The yellow looks good with my wood cabinets and goes well with everything in my kitchen. I believe this toaster will never, ever wear out. It is heavy, well-built, and well-designed, inside and out. And, it does toast better than all the other toasters I have owned in the past.
Works well and makes you feel good July 20, 2004 J. F. Stafura (Pittsburgh, PA United States) 6 out of 10 found this review helpful
Great appliance that delivers great toast and adds to the feel of the kitchen. Only desire would be a couple of wider toast slots.
