Love it! July 7, 2008 KM (Kansas City) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This toaster looks, feels and works like a quality appliance. Bread pops up enthusiastically, but it doesn't fly out of the toaster. My boyfriend's daughter says it's like cartoon toast. The bagel feature works great and there are long slots for toasting pita bread halves and wider-than-Wonder bread from the local bakery. The price was higher than toasters I saw at Target and Macy's, but there's a noticeable difference in construction quality. I fully expect this toaster to last many years.
Dualit 4-slice toaster May 2, 2008 Lynell Johnson (Hartford, CT) At last, a toaster that actually toasts! I especially like it for English muffins because it has a "toast on one side" feature. It's taken some experimentation to get the darkness level just right, and it can't seem to "understand" frozen bread, but overall, very happy with it. And it looks great too.

I have had as high as 5 toasters out in the garage in the never ending quest for a great toaster. My family had a Sunbeam that automatically delivered the best toast ever. I have yet to find a toaster that delivers the same quality. The Dualit is a very good looking toaster and certainly is a good looking addition. It delivers better than average toast, but I did experience a break-in period before it delivered acceptable toast. All the reviews gave the setting 3 as the best setting, mine burned at 3. So there is going to be an adjustment period. I want toast that is toasted all over the surface of the bread, not just in the middle. All toasters deliver good toast at first then as they age, you get untoasted areas on the top and bottom of the bread. I suspect that getting toast like the old Sunbeam delivered won't happen as the new toasters have wider slots for different sizes of bread. All and all the toaster seems to be performing well but I plan to revisit this review in about 6 months. I am revisiting this review. My toaster is now producing toast that is not toasted about 1/2" on the bottom and if two pieces are in the toaster, then they will be untoasted on one side and the bottom. It is a beautiful toaster but is no better than a number of the competitors who charge about $25 less. The quest goes on......
Great Toaster! January 9, 2007 Kent W. Viklund 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I really love this machine. Makes consistently good toast and I like the bagel one-side toasting feature as well. The only negatives are the strong spring that sometimes sails the toast out on the countertop, and the high cost of the purchase. For me it was worth the price, though, being fed up with those low-priced toasters that die or fall apart not long after buying. We have 10 people in the house so it gets lots of use. Recommended overall a good buy!
Uneven toasting April 17, 2006 G. Kenney (Redwood City, CA United States) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
We've had this toster for about 3 weeks and we're tyring to return it. The toast is uneven both vertically and horizontally, and burns at #4 out of 8. We need a long 4-slice toaster because we buy bread that is wider than regular sandwich bread. This is a real disappointment at $120!
