Slider difficult to use June 29, 2008 Damon Williams 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Initially, the "slider" that pushes the toast down was getting stuck in the down position - so the toast never popped up! I had to violently shake it up and down many times to "loosen" it up before it started working correctly.
toaster went kaput after one month! May 19, 2008 T. Stone (WA United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The toaster looks nice and worked well...for one month! Now its totally dead and I will have to drive it to a Krups service center to have it repaired. Who has time for that?
A hassle to use May 6, 2008 T. Stake (San Jose, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you want a toaster that requires a two step toasting process, this is the one for you. I find it very annoying when I take a piece of standard size bread out of the freezer and stick it in the toaster I have a 50/50 chance that it will fit. I end up having to toast each end of the bread vertically. This results is a piece of bread toasted evenly on the ends and darker/burnt in the middle. Another problem is that when you press down on the lever on the side that drops the bread and engages the toasting process, you literally have to slam it down. Maybe this is some type of new safety feature, but all my other toasters never seemed to have this issue. I'm going back to the cheaper Oster toaster I originally had. It may not have the greatest reviews, but I know it doesn't have the issues I have listed above
Expensive but worth it February 11, 2008 George A. Ector (Springfield, VA United States) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I've had it about a month now and I have no complaints. Once you figure out which levels to set for your different breads it's great.
Great mid-price toaster November 23, 2007 Terrence Walsh (Strongsville, OH USA) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I just got this toaster a month ago and I like it a lot. To be fair, I don't toast things every day but I have not had any cause for complaint yet. Put bread in, it toasts it evenly and you take bread out. I think many people who like "artisan" bread will like this toaster because it does a couple of things that make weird size slices toast well. First, it has nice wide toast holders that can fit longer and thicker pieces of bread. It also has a pop height adjuster that can make it easier to get out those shorter slices. I can't find another toaster for the price that lets you toast this type of bread easily. If you don't slice or eat specialty breads, you might not want to spend this much unless it is a good match for your decor. It still does toast regular store-bought bread well though. I also had good success with English muffins and bagels although I had to use a higher temperature setting to make it a one pop deal.
