I agree - not a great toaster May 25, 2008 Dave (Portland) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I'd just like to second what most everyone is saying here: this toaster produces very uneven toast. The center top toast faster than the rest. If you run a second batch of toast it will come out darker than the first batch. I'll give it two stars because it handles long pieces of bread well.
uneven toasting May 19, 2008 C. Manole (Lighthouse Point, FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this toaster because I had had a similar Phillips toaster with long slots, and this looked similar, and it was nice in stainless steel to match my other appliances. It is terrible!! you have to rotate once or twice your toasts to get them almost even, it burns the edges and does not toast the middle... DO NOT BUY IT.
It works well enough, except... May 18, 2008 A Working Dad (East Coast USA) I was eager to buy it cause of its looks. So I didn't read all the nagative reviews until after I bought this toaster, but before I received it. So I was pretty bummed out while awaiting shipment. When I received this toaster, the first thing that I disliked about it is its size, it is a lot bigger than its pictures. I plugged it in and tried it. It works FINE! My first batch of toast also smoked, but that was because one slice of bread was curly and its corner was touching the heating fillaments on the sides. Pros: It does look nice, and its extra wide/long slots can even toast "hero" rolls. It toasts just fine so far. Cons: 2 things/design I found stupid! 1) The crumb tray slides out from its back end. Dumbest design ever! I have open space in front of the toaster, but who will leave over a foot of open space behind a toaster? 2) The "High-lift lever" gives it an additional 1/2" lift only. Half an inch doesn't help much. They should of made it lift an extra inch or more. I will have to wait 6 months to see if all those bad reviews holds any water. Other than all those bad review giving me a scare, I like this toaster.
Bad toast no more March 29, 2008 A. Garcia (Texas) Oster 6330 Inspire 4-Slice Toaster, Brushed Stainless Steel is the highly successful and much less expensive replacement for my previous new toaster that was used about a week before the annoyance factor made it worth the price to just get rid of it. This toaster was about half the price, toasts evenly with different types of bread and lifts higher to easily remove bread. No more complaints from the family!
Oster 6330 Inspire 4-Slice Toaster, Brushed Stainless Steel February 25, 2008 Kinsey Mallone, P.I. (California) A great toaster. Accepts thick or thin slices, bagels too. I like the additional settings, ( bagel, frozen ) Browns the toast evenly, and the crumb tray is easy to empty. Have been using for several months and the stainless steel finish still looks good. Only downside: I realize that for safety reasons you only get a short electrical cord, but this one, at 28 inches, is just a little too short unless you have an outlet right by where you want to place the appliance.
