Product Description
SS Belgian Waffler & Multibaker

Amazon.com Review
As my tastes expand, extra space in the kitchen shrinks, filling with specialized appliances. Fortunately, this versatile grill is a space saver, cooking something for every meal: restaurant-style Belgian waffles, paninis, sausages, or grilled meats and fish. The secret is the reversible grid. One side is a four-square waffle iron for waffles, while the other neatly grills sandwiches or paninis. To grill sausages, bacon, salmon, vegetables, or pancakes, just open the grill so both sides lay flat. The nonstick grids prevent crumbling waffles, are easy to clean, and allow for lower-fat grilling, justifying more whipped cream on your waffles, or extra cheese in your sandwich. The raised rib grill drains fat as food grills--a further fat reduction. Recipes are included to guide you through a variety of waffles, French toast, paninis, T-bone steaks, and grilled vegetables. --Laura Cuthbert

4 out of 5 stars RECOMMENDED   April 7, 2008

I searched for an indoor grill with interchangeable plates for awhile. Finally, I came across this item. It works great!!! The only complaint I have is with the grease spouts. Always place a plate or tray underneath it besides a cup. There will be spillage. The waffle plates are nice and deep. Just remember to preheat grill!!!

1 out of 5 stars Soft waffles is all it makes!   March 17, 2008
Gerald Hilton (Exeter, CA)
I had this product for a few years now, and have only used it a dozen times or so. The reason why is because I have never been able to get it to make crisp waffles. No matter how long I let it cook, it usually takes at least 11 min. just to cook a waffle that is soft. It will not cook a crispy waffle at all.
The other problem is that I have to coat it with massive amounts of Pam, or oil, and even then they will stick frequently.
So, I finally got sick of soft waffles, and fighting the thing for them! I just did the right thing and threw it in the trash, where it belongs!

1 out of 5 stars Poor Quality   August 7, 2007

Grill did not get hot enough to cook pancakes. The non stick coating is flimsy and flakes of easily. Too bad, because I really like this type of grill as it is easier to store than a regular griddle and is also good for making grilled cheese sandwiches. I replaced it with a Black & Decker that works very well but is not as large.

5 out of 5 stars Love It!!   August 3, 2007

This is not your typical waffle iron. It is one appliance that I use the most in the kitchen. It is not as sturdy as most waffle irons, but the pluses outweigh the minuses. What I like the most is that you can remove the plates completely to wash them. This is my second one, and I like the new featuers. Smooth handles making cleaning easier and bigger feet. I recommend this to anyone with limited space, who needs an appliance that can be used for more than one thing! I have become the gourment grilled cheese and Pannini Queen!

1 out of 5 stars Not Enough Heat   July 2, 2007
M. Lee (Maryland, USA)
First review I have ever given on Amazon -- although I am a Amazon Prime member and buy a lot of stuff from Amazon. Great looking piece, but it just doesn't get hot enough to make pancakes (in it's open configuration). It will make waffles if you are willing to wait a very long time and flip the waffles, so they are done evenly. I like the idea behind the design, but the heating element is just poorly designed and too weak. I purchased this as we have a Mickey Mouse Waffle Maker by VillaWare that is great and makes a waffle (one MM waffle) quickly and easily. With my family, waiting 8-10 mins with moving the waffle to get it even just doesn't work. I made waffles today and have gone back to using our basic GE waffle maker, even though it's not Belgian. I would not get this product again and if I could find the box, I'd send it back.
