I wanted a timer I could hear over the TV or if I left the room. I thought the lanyard would make this possible. But the ring is loud enough that I haven't needed to use the lanyard yet. I just hang the timer on the refrigerator with it's magnet. A very handy, easy to use, easy to hear timer. I may order another.

Not perfect, but close -- I am on my second one (it's not a good toddler toy), and if anything happens to this one, I'll get another. Only two minor complaints:
1 - Sometimes I bump it while wearing it, and without being aware of it, stop the timer.
2. It took me forever to figure out how to set the clock -- hoping to save you some time, here's the trick: Hold the clock button down until the display disappears, then enter the time. The secret is that you must enter six digits: hhmmss. Which means that anyplace you have a single digit, you must use a leading zero. 00 is ok for the seconds, but you must enter them.
Other than that, you don't need directions -- it's all pretty staightforward.

I just bought another one of these because my husband and I were fighting over it all the time. It's PERFECT. I love using it in the Spring & Summer, because I just hang it around my neck and go outside to garden and take my reminder WITH me. GREAT for cookies! I use it walking too. It counts up, it counts down, it has a clock. Oh, and, the battery lasts a LONG time. The only way it would be better is if it could make me a frozen margarita. I pray they'll make these forever. Don't waste your time debating over whether you should buy this great product.

The literature says the Count-up timer goes to 24 hrs. but mine only goes to 9 hrs. 59 min. 59 sec.
Other than that, I like being able to enter time via 0-9 digits & it's nice & small. It's extremely annoying when it beeps with each key press. It should also stop beeping when you press any key.
