    Amazon.com Review
This cooker boils up to seven eggs at one time or poaches one or two eggs in trays. You can use the calibrated water-level indicator to pour the precise amount of water needed to soft-, medium-, or hard-boil one to seven eggs. The indicator (a tube) has a steel pin in the bottom for piercing eggshells; this will leech out the sulfur so yolks remain yellow during cooking rather than turning green. Assuming the proper amount of water is in the egg holder, the timer will ensure the eggs are cooked to the desired level, and then indicates with a light and bell when the hard-boiling is completed. You can then set the timer switch to keep the eggs warm. The plastic egg holder is removable, letting you cool the eggs under running water. Everything cleans easily, including the nonstick coating on top of the boiling plate. The cooker measures 9-1/8 inches wide and 5-1/4 inches high. --Fred Brack

4 out of 5 stars Works as advertised.   July 23, 2008
    Anonymous Amazon Reviewer (USA)
Works pretty well. Much easier than using the boiling water, faster too. Only complaint is the lack of "Cook" and "Keep Hot" labels, instead they have two icons, which I guess we are suppose to memorize. I use it once in a while and always get confused which side to set it to. Why not put labels with the icons? I had to put the labels using a permanent marker to prevent from having to refer to instructions before each use. Purchased in Jan 2005, still working well.

5 out of 5 stars This is so practical   June 18, 2008

My wife has an older model, a little wornout. She has been so happy with this replacement. It's an easy way to make soft and hard boiled eggs. Clean up is a quick rinse thanks to the coating. Cord storage is a nice feature. This is a great kitchen appliance!

    5 out of 5 stars Best Egg Cooker / Krups 230-70   May 6, 2008

Cooking 1 or 6 eggs, all will be perfect. When the simple cooking process ends you hear a loud buzzer signal.(thats great)This unit poaches eggs to perfection, soft, medium or hard,it's easy to follow the simple text instructions. The only negative is the non stick coating,no one at Krups has any idea on how to clean it properly so if you can live with a minor discoloration of the coating this cooker will serve you well.Buy it online or pay a ridiculous premium price, thats if you can a find a retailer that stocks this great product from Krups?

    1 out of 5 stars No automatic shut-off   April 30, 2008

I had a Sunbeam egg cooker from 1971 until 2008. It shut off automatically when the eggs reached the desired consistency. Sadly, it finally died. This one looked like a good replacement but it only alarms when it is time to turn it off (has to be turned off manually). If I have to stick around and wait for the alarm, I might as well cook them on the stove in a pan! I want to be able to do other things--leave the room, go outside, etc. I returned it and bought another brand.

This egg cooker is great for poached eggs. We use it daily. I also use it for boiled eggs for salads. It is a great little gadget.
