Product Description Flat tamp surface
Amazon.com Review An essential accessory for coffee connoisseurs, this weighted tamper gently presses coffee grounds in the filter, and distributes them evenly for a precisely-brewed espresso. The weighted end is made of stainless steel, while the handle is constructed of nonslip, ergonomically-contoured plastic designed to reduce wrist strain. The tamper measures 6 inches long, and has a handy hook for hanging. The tool is dishwasher-safe and covered by a limited lifetime warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

BIG and HEAVY like it should be! January 2, 2008 A. P. Solomon (Virginia Beach, VA) It's what you want a tamper to be: BIG and HEAVY. As you can see in the picture it has a nice long handle and a large heavy head. If you want a light pocket sized tamper, don't buy this one.
This thing sucks March 30, 2007 Brent Clayton (NY USA) 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
It's supposed to have a 2" diam, but is way narrow for my Gaggia.
Tamper Head Diameter March 9, 2007 James Stich (Denver) 4 out of 9 found this review helpful
OK - Since I'm an engineer, I'll do the arithmetic..... since there is 25.4 millimeters in an inch.... 1.75 inches is equal to 44.45 millimeters Hmmmmm.....better get out the calipers and measure my portafilter OBTW - Ignore the 3-star rating - I had to enter a rating to post.
Of course it's big and heavy April 3, 2006 Ellen Cole (Columbus, OH USA) 1 out of 9 found this review helpful
The tamper dimensions are in the description and it also mentions that the tamper is HEAVY.
not a good choice August 2, 2005 J. Li 3 out of 15 found this review helpful
This tamper is big, and heavy too. This is not a good choice for an ordinary espresso machine.
