Amazon.com Review
Deep-pocketed Belgian waffles cook in 90 seconds or less with this 1100-watt WafflePro from Chef's Choice. The waffle maker's unique Quad Baking System allows a choice of texture, color, aroma, and flavor for each individual waffle. No longer just a breakfast treat with maple syrup, waffles on the crisp side make a perfect dessert when paired with ice cream, while kids love moist brownie waffles for an after-school snack. Recipes are included in the user guide.

A rocker switch lets you choose between a faster baked waffle with a crisp exterior, moist interior, and heady aroma, or one cooked more slowly with a uniform texture throughout. The color control dial offers individual preference ranging from light golden brown to dark brown. Each 6-1/2-inch round waffle is quartered, allowing it to be divided easily between hungry kids or served as wedge-shape `cookies.' The WafflePro also features nonstick plates and an overflow channel that wipe clean, a floating hinge to maintain even baking over varying thicknesses, and a beeper that sounds five times when cooking is done. Green and red baking lights make the whole procedure a snap. The cord wraps neatly underneath and the maker stands upright for compact storage. The waffle maker measures 8-1/2 by 9-1/2 by 3 inches and comes with a one-year warranty. --Ann Bieri

5 out of 5 stars Finally! A waffle maker that works!   April 27, 2008
Bud (No. California)
I finally tossed our old waffle iron because the waffles always stuck! This Chef's Choice is excellent! You oil it once, before you use it the first time, and that's it! You can choose how dark or light you want them. No guessing when they're done; a bell rings and the green light goes on, and it's been perfect each time. The cord wraps around the bottom and it stores on end, making it easy to keep out of the way on my counter. I couldn't be happier with it.

3 out of 5 stars Loved it, but it died prematurely in my opinion   April 4, 2008
Emily Davis (Boulder, CO USA)
I loved the features, the lack of sticking waffles, and the ease of cleaning (just wiped it off) but it died after two years. Maybe I'm expecting too much, but for a rather simple product I had hoped for five years or more.

5 out of 5 stars Chef's Choice 830B Waffle Pro   March 22, 2008
D. Singleton (Cary, NC)
I have been looking for a Belgian Waffle Maker since I ate Belgian Waffles on the last cruise I took. After researching waffle irons and reading reviews, I decided that the Chef's Choice 830B waffle iron was the product for me. I do not have a big kitchen, so the size was a concern also. After receiving this waffle iron, I have not been sorry I got it. The waffles are the best and so easy to make. And the clean up is a breeze - there is barely any clean up. The waffles were a hit with my son who stated that he never wants to eat frozen waffles again. I have used the Aunt Jemima Pancake and Waffle Mix and also used Krusteaz Belgian Waffle Mix, both are good and easy. The instruction book also comes with recipes to try. I am very pleased with this product.

1 out of 5 stars Poor results   March 18, 2008
J. Radtke (St Paul, MN)
We bought this several years ago to very good reviews. The first several times, we had excellent results. Afterwards, all we had was trouble. The waffles stuck to the "non-stick" surface and the back hinge broke after only a year. Now, I cannot get waffles to come out of the waffle maker. It heads to the garbage this morning.

2 out of 5 stars Quality may be slipping... I'll report on my repair experience later   February 18, 2008
R. Rotondo (FL, USA)
Got mine for Christmas and have used it about 6 times. When it worked it worked well - though no better or worse than my Mom's Cusinart that looks very similar.

It stopped working in the middle of a batch this weekend. I called the company to see what to do. They said send it back at my expense and they'll fix it. It was the answer I was expecting which is fine - though the person I spoke to (at Edgecraft the manufacturer) couldn't have been less friendly.

I will report back on my repair experience once I get the product back.

4 stars for how it works, 0 stars for quality of the product itself (so far)
