Amazon.com Review
A floating hinge and two sets of cooking plates turn this multifunctional unit into a contact grill, panini press, large open grill, or griddle. Made of brushed stainless steel, this four-in-one, space-saving appliance offers cooking options that range from pancakes, sausages, and grilled cheese to fish, hamburgers, and panini. Its floating hinge adjusts to the thickness of food, while adjustable temperature controls ensure food is cooked properly. The unit features a sturdy panini-style handle and convenient indicator lights, as well as nonstick grill and griddle plates that are removable, dishwasher-safe, and designed to drain grease away from food for healthier cooking. Two dishwasher-safe drip cups to collect grease are included, plus a dishwasher-safe scraping tool for easy cleanup. The unit measures 13 by 11-1/4 by 6-1/2 inches and carries a limited three-year warranty. --Catie Unger

Love it and use it regularly. I live alone and it's perfect for my small kitchen. Easy clean-up, too...

I use this appliance more than any other I have. It is great for cooking chicken, bacon and paninis.

4 out of 5 stars Great grilling all year round   June 26, 2008

I shopped around for a grill but not extensivley and this is the one that I liked the best. I like the floating hinge option because it does cook the food evenly. I also really liked the fact that it folds open and you can use it as a griddle. We have a small apartment so the more appliances that are multi funtioning the better.

So far I have had no problems some of the other reviewers mentioned such as the grease splattering etc. I do not put the plates in the dishwasher and so far have had no problems cleaning them. I personally am not a huge fan of cuisinart, but I really do love this grill. I have cooked burgers, veggies, and evn frozen chicken breast in it!

the only real downsides I can see is that the plates do seem a little light, the grill I used to have had very heavy and much sturdier seeming plates, and I can see how the little grease catcher could be a proble if you were cooking food with a lot of grease or liquid but I am not sure how else they would get around it really.

Overall this is a great product and I hope to be able to enjoy if for many years to come!

2 out of 5 stars Total Waste of Money   June 25, 2008

I. like so many other people was fooled by the TV commercials for this product. But, after purchasing it and using it for a few months, it just isn't worth even a fraction of the cost.It is especially poorly designed for cooking anything that might create grease. Like burgers or steaks. The method this product uses to remove the grease from the cooking surface is the worst I have seen. the grease flows from the cooking surface into little plastic cups. Which if not placed perfectly don't catch all of the grease. If the cup gets full, you get grease everywhere when trying to replace the cup. Also, when you life the top to remove the food, the grease runs down the top plate and onto your counter or whereever you have the appliance set up. The grease which doesn't make it off of the cooking surface burns and is hard to clean. On top of all of these problems, the food just doesn't come out very good. Burgers, chicken and such develop a hard outer surface and tend to dry out as well. I would not reccomend this product to anyone, especially at the $129 price I paid for it.

1 out of 5 stars Arrived broken   June 24, 2008

I selected this grill after reading all the wonderful reviews about it and because it was made by Cuisinart. However, it arrived damaged! When my husband pulled it out of the box, a small piece flicked to the floor -- part of the mechanism that holds the top and bottom together. It was not usable without that piece. It immediately went back to the returns department. This was very dissapointing; I have always trusted the Cuisinart name, but will no longer automatically assume a Cuisinart product will be quality after this experience.
