 Cute, but not efficient July 1, 2008

This item was adorable and my daughter loved the idea, however, the iron's performace was weak. The shape turned out okay, but the top part of the iron doesn't cook the waffle completely no matter how many times you put the lid back down and the chirping sound it makes when it thinks the waffle is done gets annoying fast.

I bought this item to take to my workplace. I work in a memory unit and thought the residents would just LOVE it. I was right they do, we have our barnyard waffles at least two times a week! We have them with syrup and then sometimes we have them with ICECREAM which we highly suggest everyone do! I don't believe I've ever gotten so much pleasure out of any appliance.

We just used this waffle iron for the first time today and we love it. Definitely consider this product if you expect great value for your money! My son is 11 months old and laughed hysterically at the different animal shapes. This is a kid pleaser :-)

The Farmyard aspect of this waffler was intended for my grandchildren. The main thing is that it works the way it's supposed to and there are settings for darkness and lightness that enable one to make waffles exactly as light or dark as desired. Lights that go on and audible beeps make using this waffler almost foolproof.
