Product Description
Krups calls it their Expert waffle maker, a handsome appliance that looks unlike any other waffle maker you've ever seen before. The elongated unit makes two large waffles that are a full 1.25-in. deep. An adjustable thermostat can be raised to a higher setting for waffles that are crunchy and crispy; turn the thermostat down and you can use it to re-heat already made waffles without over-browning the second go-round. The cooking plates are removable and dishwasher-safe for ease of cleaning. The stainless exterior is durable, and the insulated handle keeps hands cool and collapses to allow for convenient storage. At the bottom is a nonstick drip tray to catch any batter that spills over during cooking. A red light indicates the power is on; a green light illuminates when the initial cooking temperature is reached. 7.5 x 11.25 x 8-in.

Amazon.com Review
This unusual rotating waffle maker is sure to elicit admiration from brunch guests. Made of brushed stainless steel with black accents, the unit not only looks elegant but cooks professionally. After ladling the batter into the deep nonstick bottom plate, the top is firmly closed. After ten seconds, by means of the insulated handle, the waffle maker is rotated upside down and allowed to cook for the remainder of the required time (recipes and times are included in the user guide). The result: two perfect 1-1/4-inch-thick Belgium waffles, crisp on the outside, moist on the inside. A dial features variable browning settings, and two lights indicate when the waffle maker is on and when to add batter. Two curved fixed legs keep the maker upright and a drip tray fits between them to collect any batter overflow. A release button on the handle allows it to collapse for storage. Measuring 7-1/2 by 9-1/2 inches, the cook plates can be wiped clean or conveniently removed and placed in the dishwasher. With the handle collapsed, the waffle maker measures 13 by 8-1/2 by 9-1/2 inches and is covered by a one-year warranty. --Ann Bieri

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Product   September 21, 2008

Excellent product. Works well. The build quality is great and feels very solid. However, rather than purchase here for $79, item can be purchased for < $50 from eBay seller giftsnstuff. For that price, it's an even better value.

3 out of 5 stars uneven cooking, getting worse ...   September 21, 2008

Have had this iron for about 3 years, have used it probably 30 times. It's developing a serious uneven browning problem and like one reviewer noted, there is a gap in the front - the plates close at the back but not completely at the front.

I think that contributes but I didn't notice the problem until, maybe, the last five times of use - yesterday, my back waffle was actually slightly burnt while the front one was perfect. I've tried to turn them but that doesn't work, really. When I first noticed the problem, the back waffles would be perfect, the front ones not quite done. Cooking times are roughly the same ...

I do like the ability to flip the pan ... but I'll soon be looking for a better iron - who wants to eat 1 burnt waffle for every perfect one?

5 out of 5 stars Sunday breakfast is fun again!!   September 16, 2008

Wanted a belgian waffle maker after using the self serve one at a hotel this summer. The waffle maker heats up quickly and takes only about 4 minutes to cook a waffle. Perfectly crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. My family loves making these waffles. Try the Carbon's Golden Malted batter they sell on Amazon. Delicious!!

5 out of 5 stars Love it, love it, love it! - DIY breakfast for the tired hostess   August 29, 2008

Our trial run was crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside; perfect according to my husband. I hesitated for two years after enjoying one of these at a B&B. I figured it was just one more gadget in my kitchen I didn't need. I am going to put it to the test this weekend when 15 friends are staying over night. I'll be putting a major spread on Saturday night, I don't want to spend Sunday am in the kitchen cooking too so I am putting out a waffle bar for them to help themselves. My daughter is bringing hers along too, she has the Waring unit - I can't wait to compare.

4 out of 5 stars Love this waffle maker!   August 15, 2008

I looked around a lot before purchasing this waffle maker. I love it. You have to get use to it and how fast it cooks and the timing, but once you get it down they are perfect!
